There is a widespread shortage of maths and science teachers in Australia ATM, so you are going to have to TRAIN your own. sure we are only one supplying country, but in this particular area, it shows what should be done.

Why is there a shortage. Well because we have a hump of teachers where the majority are "old". It think it is about 50% are over 50 years old or something. So our local state education dept (public education is state based in Australia) managed to pee a whole pile of them off and they went elsewhere. This was done deliberately to start the change over early. Slight problem, no one had thought to train replacements.

No in this country, you almost need a four year degree specifically for teaching in a certain level clbuttroom. It isn't much use anywhere else. So naturally no one is going to study full time for four years, run up a education debt approaching $AUS100,000 and then go into a system that is currently archaic and peeing off teachers.

You forgot training costs and to take off discounted wages.
