Read them. The bible has atrocities but it is mostly God doing the killing in the old testament. The message is more one of fear god in the old testament. The new testament is much milder. There are instances where Jesus does "un-Jesus-like" things but they are the exception not the rule. Most Christians believe the old testament is overruled by the new. Justice is mostly left up to god.

Contrast that with the Koran which is one long call to destroy infidels. It's not just that but they have other religious books like the Hadith which spell out how Muhammed actually behaved. He makes Charles Manson look like a piker. Not only that you are suppose to emulate him. It's not God killing the infidels either it's Muhammed and he's telling you that it's your duty to kill them. In Islam it is the responsiblity of the believer to be an intolerant killing machine-enslaver in order to guarantee his place in heaven. That and all the rules on opressing women. These messages are clear, there is not ambiguity. That is why they are still practicing this stuff today.

As an atheist I am more than willing to put up with the Christian punishment in the afterlife for not believing. I don't believe it is going to happen. I won't stand for it however when your delusions lead you to try to behead me in this world.
