These are *not* matriarchies, but patriarchies with a woman, like Maggie Thatcher, using the system she inherited for what she perceived to be the good of her people. Cathrine the Great, another example. Go to the graveyards of Kucha and the other Silk Road city states that were run by women, or look at what the Mosou, who live in Western China still to this day do. You can compare the number of children in the grave yards and see lots in *every* patriarchic graveyard, but hardly any where there is matriarchy because *all* of the kids, not just the sons of the rich, get properly fed. And you can date and count the graves, and see that while patriarchic cultures go thru boom & bust, the matriarchic cities had, and still have, very stable populations.
Matriarchy dont have welfare cause it dont have nuclear families. the whole clan lives in multigenerational housing where they all keep an eye on the mothers and kids and make sure they eat right, and nobody gets abused. None of the girls get f***ed by mom's boyfriend either.
