One of the more peculiar aspects of Maharaj's behaviour - and it's all pretty odd - his racist hatred of the British, his masturbation obsession, etc - is his determination to rehabilitate the Nazi collaborator S. C. Bose, a former employee of Dr. Goebbels revered by extreme Indian Nationalists as "Netaji", i.e., pioneer, fearless leader, etc.

Bose was a Hindu Nationalist who collaborated with the Nazis to broadcast propaganda from Goebbel's Ministry in Berlin, raised a Labour Battalion to build the Atlantic Wall, and funnelled more able Indian fighters into Wehrmacht groups fighting the British in Persia.
