Want a job India's still your best bet 4376Want a job India's still your best bet 4377 Thundercleets Yes -you need a job offer to apply for a work permit. But you don't need a work permit...
Thundercleets No -the sponsor doesn't have to prove that no citizen is available for the job. The visa if issued belongs to the worker, and not to the sponsor. Unlike in the US, employer cannot get the worker deported or put him out of status. The govt is working out a visa on arrival for tourists (citizens of certain countries). That will allow foreigners to walk in as tourists and then switch over to employment if they find a suitable job. By and large, govt has no problem and no jurisdicatuion over private capital employing foriegners. I mean, it doesn't cost the govt anything and if the forienger is to be employted in India vs US, he will pay taxes to ind govt instead of US govt -which is actually a win for the govt here. The govt allows certain individuals to become citizens depending on whether they are victims of political-religious persecution and whether or not they represent a threat to the country. But unlike the US, legal residence-citizenry cannot be purchased and they make it real difficult for a foreigner to get voting rights-pbuttport etc.. for frivolous reasons. regards -kamal
