Between the engineers at one end and the customer at the other end, there is a layer of mgmt which either does not communicate requirements clearly or is v greedy Many of the MNCs that I have come across in India have a policy of not hiring experienced manpower to keep costs low.So, even if the engrs perform badly -it jst means the company didn't hire the right kind of personnel -not that people of that country are stupid. I don't think being an Indian makes one brighter. But if I had to buttume that Indians are 1-2 as smart as americans, with 4 x population -it means we have twice as much good manpower as the US. But when you look at the industrial landscape -the bulk of the tech jobs are in US. So, there is a lot more unemployed but talented manpower in India vs the US (and that might explain the trend of moving to India in part). into are You can have a higher std of living at a lower cost. I mean, if it costs 5x to live a similar lifestyle in the US, making 50% US salary gives you twice as good a lifestyle (and could well act to entice Indians to return home). still in out Does the US consbreastuion categorize it *ILLEGAL* to offshore work when locals are unemployed? What are the chances that you can get some CEO prosecuted for offshgoring jobs to improve profits (or because he doesn't like his fellow americans)?

The current war is definately an economic blow to the US. Just as Vietnam brought with it a wave of economic problems, you should expect the same if & when the Iraq war bills are realized. regards -kamal
