Don't think it's possible? It happened in Nazi Germany. It's happening again now. Do you think there ever existed a tyrannical empire which knew or admitted they were wrong? They never do... not until they end up in war crimes tribunals anyway. Then they are all too eager to see the errors of their ways and plead for mercy. Mercy is seldom an option for their victims beforehand. This is the dark side of humanity... the ability to group others, de-humanize them and then commit unthinkable acts without blinking.
However, good intentions or bad, wars like these are ruining the image and prestige the U.S. enjoyed in the world a few short years ago. All because members of Congress and people such as yourself don't want to rock the boat, don't want to believe we are doing bad things or just aren't directly affected and so are happy to leave things on autopilot. Fingers in your ears or not, this war is DEAD WRONG.

No of provide Apples and oranges. Law enforcement is a necessary function of society which most reasonable people obviously support. The same cannot be said about this war, which was and is hardly necessary. Humor...
Like I said before, if you truly believe the cause is just, by all means go and enlist. The armed forces are critically short right now. Don't be afraid... you could be a paper-pusher or a cook. No more excuses. No more being brave with someone else's life, as long as you aren't affected personally.
