Apples and oranges. Law enforcement is a necessary function of society which most reasonable people obviously support. The same cannot be said about this war, which was and is hardly necessary. Humor me... just what is it for? There is a dire shortage of soldiers and a back-door draft, what with the stop loss policy. What you're telling me is that you believe in this war, but enough to really get involved. Not when it could mean that you're the meat going into the grinder. This is what it all boils down to. The sacrifices this war requires aren't worth it to you. So we see eye to eye, since they're not worth it to me, either. Perhaps there is a time and a place for war, when it's truly necessary, but deep down you and I both know that is not the case with Iraq.

Actually I do read the news, and from more than just one or two sources with right-wing leanings. I also read how Enron deliberately took plants off-line to deliberately hike energy prices and stick it to "grandma" out west during the 2000 scandal. Unfortunately, incidents like these aren't as isolated as many think. So I'm not so eager to take the bait hook, line and sinker when oil execs throw out this week's excuses for oil prices rising at the pump while at the same time declining on the world market. Your continued denial that anything's amiss in all this just shows your blind faith in a broken system, or that you have a vested interest in the rip-off.
