Well, on one of the newscasts I heard part of, the commentators were saying "I guess the defense that 'Aw, shucks, I didn't know what was going on' wasn't going to play anymore".

But, my esteemed debator, Alex, surely thinks that its OK for guys like Ebbers to take obscenely large compensations packages for just being a figurehead that just signs memos authored by secretaries and other "suits" while at the same time thinking 'if anything goes wrong, they can't pin nothin' on me because I'll just say I didn't know.'

BE might do well to appeal. Some 40% (or is it 60%, one of those figures is right) of verdicts are overturned on appeals.

I'd like to see the blowtorch put to the rear ends of all those guys that connived to bilk California citizens outta $billions for electricity and I've read enough articles that reported quite a bit of collusion and coniving on that.

There are some guys that are already going to jail....no sympathy for them. Some have yet to be hauled in. It might be nice for someone to write a book on these many dozens of guys with the "puff" writeup followed by the verdict: X years in the clink.
