the myth of American supremacy 4473India's salary growth threatens outsourcing 4475 I'm not a "basher of outsourcing" per se. I find it simply annoying that these arguments degenerate into... the myth of American supremacy 4474 Well, considering you don't work for an MNC, and I don't work for an MNC, I think this is all an 'academic' exercise anyway; but as... Not surprisingly, MNC's are hurting India-centric companies: 'Cognizant's Narayanan says that the dilemma faced by many clients who are looking at India-centric players is the lack of differentiators amongst the Indian companies. "One of the biggest challenges for Indian companies is how to position themselves differently. The 'quality' tags like CMM and Six Sigma can work for a while, but there is no sustainability in this differentiation," he says. There was a time when SEI-CMM certifications were looked upon as the ultimate differentiator, but with so many companies already buttessed at Level 5 of the SEI-CMM model, that's no longer a USP. ' I'm sure that Sanjiv Mathur, head of marketing at Microsoft Corporation India, is quite scared that another MNC will pop up with the replacement for Windows - and Office, Visual Studio and SQL Server - any day now. LOFL. Well I don't work for an MNC, but to answer your question, the simple answer is "greed". A more complex answer would be investor demands to increase profits, which forces corporations to cut down the bottom line. One way to do this is to circumvent government taxation; bypbutt federal and state health, safety and environmental regulations; and decrease payroll and benefits by hiring discount workers in foreign lands. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Sometimes you just get insult-spewing IIT-educated newsgroup posters who can't form, or back up, a simple argument.
