BO L. That (as the article states) avg holds true for CEOs of the 50 largest about or less than $300.000 p.a

No doubt about the ill-efects of capitalism. Im talking from a legal standpoint. The money thats being handed out to the CEOs is not public money -than you can debate over. The shareholders of a company are within their rights to increase CEO compensation to ANYTHING they like.

Intel need not hire an American ever again. 4483
Looking at the numerous posts (some of which is from wannabe union leaders), statements from IEEE USA, articles in the...

So you need higher taxes for the rich to achieve a better distribution. If S. american countries are poor, it isn't because they are die-hard capitalist countries. No country is as much right wing capitalist as the US -and yet it is one of the most prosperous countries with a v large middle clbutt.

BO L. more than 500. YThey aren't dummy companies but ones employing engineers doing real work...

No -they are being outsourced for the benefit of either the shareholders or the consumers. the CEO gets his bonusses in accordance with his performance (at getting the work outsourced).

Yeah -life gets harder for the middle clbutt when inflation strikes home.

The numbers are pretty compelling about the sales of products by american companies. They are doing big business in India at least.

Thats what globalization is all about. Nobody has the time to re-invent the wheel. If country X never had the technology to perform certain activity, they learn how to value add to the basic technologyand re-sell it to the global market rather than start with designing their own cmponents.

Don't think the WTO promised that a degree will guarantee a job. If you protect domestic industry with a tariff or if you have tariffs against outsourced work, the end product that enters other countries' domestic markets will also have to deal with tariffs. AS I see it happening, western countries are negotiating with 3rd world countries to lower their tariffs in rteturn for some benefits. So, the isolationism you desire is exactly opposite to the FTAs that your govt is hell bent on signing.

they already have duties across countries, but the imp thing I want to get across is that labour isn't cheap because people are poor. Labour is often cheap because of difference in cost of living. Maybe you should apply the same rule of thumb to IBM, HP, Sun, GE, Ford etc.. They sell a lot of products outside the US and but for some export regulations -the US wouldn't be their biggest market.
