$60K - where and how many experience. For a person with 3 yr experience working in Florida, it is indeed an obscene salary.

I was in Calif from 1995-1998 and at that time Indians on H1 were making far more salary than $60K. Not from the company which brings them from India. It takes them usually 3 months to figure out that they are being ripped by a fellow indian and they bolt to the next company.

Anyhow the obscenity refers to the fact that compared to non IT folks, IT folks use to make far more salary. Do you know how much a junior level manager (with at least 7-8 yrs experience) in a Warehouse industry, or grocery industry makes. I am a member of the board of the condominium where I live and have access to some of the personal information of residents. I was surprised to see how low is the salary of non IT folks with seemingly impressive designation. Indeed it can be argued that the current salary level of IT folks is what they truly deserve.

this I agree. I never said that all jobs are going to India bcos they are equally good-better. All I am disputing is that Indians are any less capable to do IT work, which some rambos think Americans are better. Notice that almost all arguments against outsourcing by rambos is fear mongering about poor quality, project failure etc.
