Don't settle for anything other than the true 1450 card. I say this because there are some competing and earlier model cards that, while they may be cheaper initially, may not perform as well in the long run.
The only other thing I'll add in that regard is to be CAREFUL when you plug in the antenna cable! Those tiny connectors are easily damaged if you apply force at the wrong angle. Enlist the help of a hardware pro if you're not comfortable installing it.

As to a wireless router: My personal favorite is D-Link. The only thing I will say is don't run it without encryption, and don't use WEP! WPA works much better, security-wise.
