No prob, but it looks like I need to make some clarifications.

Composite video is actually just the yellow cable (generally found with a red & white audio cables) -- it's comonly referred to as RCA video. Composite's max resolution is well below HD, and it's generally the second worst signal source (the worst being RF, typically pbutted through coaxial cable).

Component is YPrPb, and is generally consists of a green, blue, & red (but note they don't pbutt RGB signals often found in Europe). In component video, all three cables pbutt video signals, so you will need additional cables for audio.

Potentially, but not always. In theory a show will look the same whether or not it's broadcasted with HDCP (there's enough bandwith for the overhead encryption has, so when it's demodulated, there should be no loss).

One of the "features" of HDCP is to allow a signal to be pbutted to a non-HDCP monitor at the cost of the video not being available at its max resolution. This is likely what Windows Vista will do, allow any monitor to work, but requite an HDCP monitor for viewing material at 1080i-p or whatever the next top resolution is.
