Can't send movies to TV from Svideo on InspironThe S-video output has no signal on my Dell Inspiron 4000 other than the desktop. How do I get the S-video port to send something Windows Media Player is playing to a TV? The computer is a hand-me-down that I am trying to set up to play on a big TV. Is there some sort of additional driver, or set up, or reconfiguration, or port enabling or something that must be done to send a video signal to the S-video output on the Dell? At first I had no video at all at the S-video port. Then I downloaded the ATI driver from the Dell website. That improved the situation somewhat. Now at least the display properties shows two monitors, and if i check the "extend my desktop to this monitor" box, the desktop from the notebook actually shows on the TV. The "Use this device as the primary monitor" box is grayed out, though. How do I activate this box? Can't send movies to TV from Svideo on Inspiron 1767 OK, Just tested on my Inspiron 600m (I'm running media center too). Step 1: make sure your not extending the desktop onto TV (see above posts... Playing a movie in WMP doesn't send anything to the TV. I only get the desktop. Kinda boring. So, the S-video port is working and sending a signal to the TV. How do I tell Inspiron to send more than just the desktop to the TV? lwsrndn
