Configuring new 4700
XP on a Labreastude CPx I have a Labreastude CPx which I recently upgraded. It is now a CPxJ with 750MHz PIII, 256MB RAM, 30GB disk. I also recently asked for opinions re. running Windows 2000 or XP on... David M Don't bother. Just uninstall anything you don't want. I use the XP one. Get a spyware program and the absence of outbound firewall won't be a problem. Frankly I got tired of configuring a third-party firewall to pbutt outward communication from various programs that need it on the (5) systems we've got. We've switched to Avast and it works. Built into XP Explorer-- just set view to Filmstrip. If that choice doesn't show, do "Customize this Folder" under View, and pick Photo Album. Yes I use clbuttic. Speed isn't a problem. The XP style is just "eye candy" that wastes pixels (it takes more space) and offers no functional advantage. Barely decent. The Dell-Lexmarks have the worst ink costs. Also quality is shoddy, but that seems to be the case in recent years for all Consumer Debt printers.
