Dell support process failure 1751 Leythos, My box is up, so I'm on to other problems, but there are some simple lessons that Dell can learn from this exchange...
Dell support process failure 1750 WSZsr, Now that's funny. I was mis-directed by every level of Dell support, and never got a solution even offered, and I'm being unreasonable !!! You can join the group on the left... Anyone wishing to learn of Dell coupons can go to the Dell website and opt-in to receive email notifications of home and-or small business specials. In addition to that there are countless websites where deals are posted and discussed. Some sites such as fatwallet.com offer free email alerts. You can specify keywords of interest and by doing so receive an email when there is a deal on specific items of interest. You can google for deals across all domains or specific domains by adding the keyword "deal" or "coupon" to a descriptive phrase. Etc. Dell carries alot of products and is always running specials of some kind or another. Given that any number of people could participate in the posting of coupons-deals, there is the potential for quite a few msgs to be posted. Needless to say alot of the people who come here won't be interested in such messages, and they'll either have to put up with the extraneous messages or opt-out via a filter rule. I question whether all web interfaces support the latter, and I'm sure plenty of people don't know how to configure such a rule. Whether the convenience to some outweighs the inconvenience to others is debatable. If the posting of coupons-deals is encouraged it may be opening the door to those who want to profit from referrals and-or increase traffic to their site(s). It may prove difficult to enforce the posting of raw coupon codes vs URLs to pages with coupon codes. Some might argue that as long as the msgs have the appropriate subject tag, all is well. Others would argue that unsolicited for profit adverts of any kind should never be tolerated in a group such as this.
