Dealing w Customer Support 1617

This is symptomatic of a typical large corporation that does not want to fix it's customer service *on purpose* (they are not bad on purpose, they on-pupose don't want to fix it). Why? 1) streamlining and coordinating all departments would be incredibly expensive because they are currently full of cheap under-send incompetent people, so to make things work they would have to replace the whole lot of them (impossible). 2) They don't care, you've allready made your order, they got your CC details, changing an order will incerase their costs so they don't want to change it and just hope you go away (which probably most do and accept what they ordered in the first place. 3) When you need a new computer next year you have forgotten about this nightmare and probably buy from them again. Their marketing research probably shows this.

Basically you get what you pay for. Buying from Dell online is cheap, and you get a cheap product and even cheaper customer service. End of story. If you want better service then don't buy from a large US corporation, go down (yes physically) to your nearest IT shop (*not* a franchise if possible) and pay 100$ more for your laptop but get personalized service. If you want to change your order you just go see them in the shop. No phone-maze. It's a luxury, think of it that way. Treat yourself. Buying from a large corporation online is like a lowend-supermarket...you get cheap products that are cheap and rotten vegetables....
