Dell GX 520 is this any better than an Optiplex 210 Issues with Dell computers

VPN Service Provider

1) I am on my 2nd Dell Optiplex, now a 210 Optiplex, just within 5 months. The first one I returned as it had a lot of problems with the 2003 Microsoft Small Businses Edition - word and outlook primarily.

2) (Initially I had to turn off the power settings on my computer as the mouse wouldn't come back if I left the computer on for long).

3) I am now periodically getting error messages, some look like they are Norton Internet Security Suite induced.

The most recent one was however a "memory could not be read" error. was shutting down my Windows XP and got the message "Memory Could Not Be Read" Ox2011941D.

I got a message back from Microsoft: She said: Run a memory testing program for several hours. You may have some bad ram or something set wrong in the BIOS.

www.memtest.org

If the ram tests OK then post back with more details of the exact error

message.

4) Is anyone familiar with this test? Is there a downside?

5) I am being advised to potentially send back the Optiplex 210 and get a GX520.

I'm getting fatigued from all these exchanges.

Thanks.

saying it might be a RAM or What does this mean?

I have Norton Internet Security Suite, Windows 2003 Small Business Edition (word, excel, powerpoint), Windows XP, and have not been able to isolate what caused this error.
