when you don't get paid your rebate it is certainly easier to buttume that you are the victim of a scam than to do something about it. but it doesn't explain how other...

I have never had a problem receiving any rebates. Some may take longer than others but I eventually received every one of them and believe me, there were quite a few. Before I submitted these rebates, I read the fine print on the offers and followed the instructions to the "T" putting dots where they had dots and dashes where they had dashes. It wasn't a pain-in-the-as as some people here insist it is. Takes only minutes. In my opinion, the ones that squawk the most have not read and followed the instructions and then screamed 'foul'. I don't doubt that there may be some unscrupulous companies out there but I think the vast majority are legit. I also went to the quoted site above and 1700 complaints is not even a drop in the bucket. Of course the nay-sayers will come back and tell you that not everyone complains. True but it's probably still a smaller number compared to those who receive their rebates. I noticed a lot of complaints from certain people her about Dell. In the last five years I have purchased 6 pieces of equipment from them, followed their instructions and received all but one in a timely manner. One they screwed up and I had to call but they immediately found their mistake and corrected it without a hbuttle.
