i don't own one but this LCD this is no 1 on my list of things i want to waste money on ;)

i've heard nothing but great reviews about the monitor itself... better than apple's range even, but some who are used to working with CRTs in a dark room-studio environment say it can be a little bright.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, but this out of the box problem, and the lack of any kind of intelligent tech support from India, has convinced me to place the PC back...

be aware that 1920x1200 is a very high resolution so i think u'd want at least a 6800GT to push the 2.3 million pixels around... that's just a guess though, i have a 6600GT, not sure how well it would do in gaming at that res, if i go over 1280x1024 in modern 3D games the frame rate starts to choke. SLI is not an option with DVI widescreen yet, apparently there is a major display glitch nVidia is aware of but hasn't fixed yet.
