Dell's Sorry History of MicrophoneSoundcard Issue 1147"Cymbal Man Freq." Dell's Sorry History of MicrophoneSoundcard Issue 1148 Steve W." Believe you 100%. Why, Dell is not responsible for all the components they slap together. Does Dell offer any warranty? If so, what's there to warrant since all hardware is not... Dell's Sorry History of MicrophoneSoundcard Issue 1149 Tom Scales" Did not start another thread. That was in response to this in that thread: Could the knowledgeable people in this group help... Problem reports indicate that all soundcards installed by Dell at least since 12-2000 have the issue. The two Creative cards now commonly installed, SB Live 24-bit and Audigy 2 ZS, have the problem. You are yet another candidate for Dell to jerk around and force you to jump through the hoops, even though Dell "knows" it's all for nothing. If you call Dell tech support now, chances are good that the tech have never heard of the problem, but then proceed to instruct you to uninstall-reinstall soundcard drivers and-or reinstall Windows or multimedia part of Windows. And if you are "lucky", they may even ask you to reformat your hard disk. Then they magnanimously dispatch on-site service to install a same model soundcard. Again, all for nothing. If you have trouble with Sound Recorder, problems with other programs will be worse. Why don't you spend some time to read through the posts with the links I gave? At least you should read my first post.
