Dimension 4100

more memory but have come across a puzzle when looking into the computer specs. It is supposedly a Dimension 4100 but Everest reports it as a Dell Dimension XPS-Z, as does Crucial's System Scanner. I can find nothing on Dell's site about the xps-z. Why would I be getting these reports and what should I be concerned about? (Supposedly the XPS-Z has three memory slots - 3 banks of 1 (but a total of 512 just like the 4100). Although the memory specs look the same also, crucial has different part #'s for them.

This whole thing just has me curious. I couldn't find the "same" memory by part # that I ordered from crucial before - therefore was looking for a "match"

This is NOT the same as a radio. If I get a car without a radio, I can still drive to work. You've completely ignored GOOD answers from others that don't seem to...

The XPS-Z and Dimension 4100 are one and the same system. It has (2) memory sockets capable of (2)x256mb PC 133 DIMMs for a total RAM capacity of 512mb.
