It should also be noted that the format command included in XP is limited to creating FAT32 parbreastions no larger than 32GB (this is a limit on the particular program, FAT32 can address up to 2TB=2000GB). Furthermore, if you'd like to convert a FAT32 drive to NTFS, Windows XP includes a non-destructive (as in your data on the drive will be fine) type convert drive letter. Please note this is a one way tool, once you're NTFS you can't go back using the tools provided by MS. Also note that it defaults to a block size of 512B (which is adequate for most people, but may not be ideal for all purposes). Personally I keep a small parbreastion of my drive FAT32 for the purpose of swapping files between Linux (where I use ext3 & Reiser) & Windows XP (NTFS); FAT32 plays well with almost all operating systems.
