E1505 first impressions 1654There's a pre-installed thing on the hard drive that supposedly has the same function (OS restore) so I imagine I could do anything with that that I could do with the restore CD. Since I would be selling the laptop in its original condition anyway shouldn't matter - but thanks for the tip. E1505 first impressions 1655 You can have the restore CD ($10) and the hard drive restore. The restore CD... Still deciding. I do know the difference; I've needed XP Pro features a few times. XP Media Edition is not bad so far, not too much crapware to remove, either (just the anti-virus stuff - I don't use it). Still hate the way it works! It is responsive though...
I've not even tried the extended battery. I'm probably going to use it sparingly. I'm trying the main now (it was fully charged, to my surprise, out of the box). No, it is the same size as the original battery just a tad heavier. By the way, I starting playing with some pictures from my camera. Wow, the display is beautiful!!! I didn't even notice until I started looking at them, but when I looked at my first photo I did a "wow!" Really blows my Toshiba's display away. As I said, it's the TrueBrite but not the highest resolution screen. I also booted with MediaDirect to play a DVD without Windows. I take it this is something else installed on the hard drive that I hadn't known about - have to be careful if I re-install XP Pro not to blow this away if possible.
