E1505 first impressions 1656
I am not bashing it, although from the standpoint of an owner with a significant investement in a 6000 without those problems it might feel like it. Warranties I sat in all day last Friday and all day yesterday waiting for Dell to send a laptop adapter on the collect and return system. It... Mainly, my point is that the truebrite screen, for me, would guarantee that I didn't get one of the defective 6000's, which tainted my views of it because I had to: 1) go through rude Customer Service to be able to return it without a restocking fee, 2) return it at my own expense, and 3) ... I forgot what I was going to say but I know there was a 3rd point :-) E1505 first impressions 1657 You can buy the restore CD at the time of purchase for $10 but probably not for that price if I try to get it now. Anyway, as I... All I share about is my experience. I had a bad experience with the 6000 which was a huge hbuttle. Also, online reviews cited a "rash of complaints" so I wasn't alone. When I extoll the virtues of the truebrite for the E1505's, one of the factors is that it would ensure that there wouldn't be any screen problems. Otherwise, if I had placed another order for a 6000, I'd wonder if I would have to return it again. Why does this matter to me? Because I just purchased an E1505. I do volunteer work locally, a lot of which is computer-based (a support website, inventory for a library of self-help books through NAMI, and some other things) and they approved money to buy the E1505 which I will be the sole user of to use for those purposes. So, I am looking forward to getting it, and by choosing the truebrite screen, I pretty much guarantee that I won't have a repeat occurance of the defective screen that I experienced on the 6000. So, that's my mindset, but out of respect for current 6000 owners who don't have that problem, I won't mention it any more unless it becomes releveant to someone's poor experience with their screen.
