Bluetooth is short-distance, low speed, low power wireless networking intended to allow small devices to communicate. I think the fastest Bluetooth spec is about...

Hello Journey,

Thanks for your comments on my future purchase, and for pointing out the source of the reviews. Funny about CNET not yet providing their own review.

I'll try to answer some of your questions and I have a few more also.

*The E1505 does not appear to be available in Canada, and the I6400 is shown in both the Home and Business sections of www.dell.ca. I have *difficulty understanding the use of coupons - it seems that a coupon only applies to a computer package that starts with a list price. After the coupon *amount is subtracted, the bottom line figure is not much different than the same model computer that does not qualify for a coupon.

*The spec. says T2300 (2MB Cache-1.66GHz-667MHz FSB). There is also the T2500 processor but it costs $250 more. What do you mean by "one small *notch"? *The current offering for the I6400 only shows XGA - no other options are shown. Maybe I should call and ask about this. BTW I do use reading glbuttes - *does XGA allow for a larger font? *I'd spend the extra $100 for the ATI card if it really makes a difference, if it's not significant I'd rather save the money.

What I mean is that I usually don't pay the premium for the fastest processor. I went for the 1.8-something Core Duo rather than...

*I don't know what Remote Desktop sessions are so I probably don't need MCE for that. *If I can view movies using a TV Tuner and also record them without MCE, then maybe I don't requre MCE? of *I don't know if it's Soundblaster Live - there's insufficent detail on the Dell site - I'll have to ask them for details of the feature.

*Your comments about battery upgrade are the same as Andrew's and don't match what I see on the Dell Canada website. The 6-cell battery is included in *the package price - to upgrade to the 9-cell is an additional $40.

I have a couple of new questions: What is bluetooth and why would I want it?

This is what I got for $1,276, including taxes and shipping. Dell later gave me $115 and a $50 coupon back when I said...

I have software that allows me to burn CDs. The Burner I bought some time ago came with Nero software. I suppose I'm going to need software for DVD playback and for burning DVDs. Is this capability built into XP Home Edition or will I need to buy specific DVD burning software such as offered by Dell or others?

Thanks again for you help and patience.

Clark
