I find the 630m to be light enough to carry without too much discomfort. I had the 700m and didn't like...

I've decided to go with Dell.... forget IBM

Just don't have the money for IBM plus they are hard to buy as far as I'm concerned...less channels to buy it thru

I'm still a bit unsure if I want 14" or 12" tho

You see.... I do 3D CAD work for a living. And altho I don't do it at home right now..... that might change in future.

You seem focused on the right factors. Here are some of my thoughts, having had a 600m 14" SXGA+, a 700m 12" WXGA, and a 630m WXGA. The 700m was OK as...

So I'm thinking I might not get away with laptop as only computer and may in fact want BOTH a laptop and desktop in future. Especially if I take any more CAD courses and want to practice at home.

If I knew for sure Id never want to do ANY cad outside of work..... even practice cad at home...... then Id go with 14" laptop

However..... if it seems likely that I will have a desktop as well as laptop....then a 12" attracts me more since its smaller. and Id have the desktop at home for using optical drives.

Sorry if I driven everyone nuts. But a true workstation clbutt desktop for 3D works costs abt $2.5k

So.... I don't want to put so much money into a laptop that there is nothing left in the "well" for a desktop
