Extended Warranties

I called and gave the special discount code. The price was $180 to extend my on-site warranty by 1 year and $220 to extend it for 2 years. I said I had been quoted the same $180 for 1 year, but $230 and a $50 rebate for 2 years, the day before. I was told they misquoted, and there's no rebate, and the price is $220, not $230, and that they had no record of my call yesterday. (She said what they quoted me was the price if I had extended it within 90 days of the sale.) I said no thanks, thinking I'd call back later.

But, the representative said she'd ask her manager about giving me a $50 rebate on 2 years. After about 5 minutes, she came back and said she'd give me the two years for $220 with a $50 rebate if I'd buy today. I said sold.

As we were talking, she emailed me the form, which I got immediately, to get the $50 mail in rebate. She asked that I wait 72 hours for the sale to register on their database before claiming the rebate.

So, I got the 2 year extension (begins 5-22-06) for $220 less a $50 MIR, instead of the $230 less a $50 rebate that I was quoted yesterday.
