Hi all,

I've just recently bought a new dell system including a 922 printer. I installed it all as specified and although it works fine as a scanner and as a copier, *and* is listed in the "printers and faxes" section of my pc, *and* appears in the taskbar as an active printer, *and* appears as the default printer when I try to print anything, it gives me a Dell-styled "Connection could not be established" (or something) error when i try to print, along with LOADS of error messageboxes always saying something similar to "GUI error" or "GUI Debug".

The GUI seems ok to me, and I've tried uninstalling the printer, reseting pc and printer, reinstalling - nothing.

Any ideas-help?

I don't have any answers, but I have the same problem. I just hooked it up yesterday, and I haven't been able to get it to print either. I keep getting the GUI debug messages.

Does anyone know how to fix this??

Aha! I've fixed my problem - I uninstalled all of the Dell Printer 922 stuff (just using the uninstall link from the Start bar), disconnected the printer, reset my pc, plugged the printer back in and just let Windows XP do all the detecting and installation itself. It seems to do all the same stuff that the installation disk did, but my printer now works. Throw that cd in the bin and let windows do something useful for once! Plug n play rules... sometimes...

Hi all,

I found the fix for this problem....

all we need to do is, disconnect the printer, uninstall the drivers, restart the computer....

now connect the printer on a different usb port at the back of the comp, and again

reinstall the drivers, using the cd....

it will fix the problem for sure...

its working for all the dell printers.....
