GeForce 6800 GTO Question

Finally getting some time to spend with my "new" Dimension 8400 I burned a DVD. I noted that the max speed I was getting was 8X. Odd seeing how I should have a 16X burner. Opening Device Manager I see that I have a different DVD+--RW than listed on my packing slip. It's a NEC model and I should have a Phillips. Then I decide to see what video card listed is. It shows a standard GeForce 6800 instead of a 6800 GTO which is what should be on my system.

unless something happens to you laptop. You don't know how many people I've had to...

I purchased this system as a "refurbished" unit and have had several parts missing, most notably, the Dell Resource CD, the Dell Backup App's CD, the power cord, and the DVI to VGA adapter. Now I see that I have a slower and differnet DVD burner than what is on the packing list and now am concerned about the video card. It appears someone got this system, yanked out some parts, replaced them with similar part, and returned it to Dell. And Dell did not catch the switch in hardware. Or am I just being paranoid ? LOL!

My question to anyone with a GeForce 6800 GTO is in Device Manager, is the card listed as a "GTO", or just a 6800 ? Thanks.

Mike
