Yes, it sure does - I started with computers in the mid 70's while in school.

I started with a HP9830A (micro-computer) with 4K of Memory, then I was permitted access on a IBM System 3 Model 12 that had Dual Processors (even though the DP guys didn't know it :) We also had the old cards format, but got the 8.5" Floppy disks (if I remember the size correctly) for the key stations - then got the 96 Column punch cards - the little square ones....

Later I was able to get my own Commodore PET 2001 - 4K RAM, Tape Drive...

I watched one of the first laser printers empty a case of green-bar in what seemed like seconds - the dang printer was as big as my kitchen.

I was also amazed by BankOne's Drum Storage array - a cabinet with two plotter-plucker arms that would fetch drums, was really neat.

In the Navy, in the late 80's, we still used Core Memory on our repair stations as it was likely to survive a nuke pulse hit.

LOL, but I'm not sure we've made much progress :)
