Getting Rid of Dell Bloatware. 1835

Remove the programs. I use the uninstall if it existes in the Start Program App folder, if not there then I use Add Remove programs in the Control Panel.

Reboot as needed and before the next step.

Get the freeware program CCleaner and use that to remove unwanted Registry entries. Trust it completely and don't do a backup (just kidding -- actually that is true for a new PC because if that messes things up then just do a total reinstall).

Then use NTREGOPT (anothere freeware program, it works with XP even if the page doesn't mentione it) to compress the Registry.

Again, I can be more "carefree" about running these on a new computer. They were recommended by people here and I trusted that they knew what they are doing.

Later though if you decide to use these tools, then I'd recommend backing things up in case something should go wrong (you should have a backup restore plan anyway -- I was saved by having one a few times, always buttume that your hard drive can crash at any time and be comfortable with the consequences).
