My setup is:

- Dell Inspiron 9300, Windows Media Center - Hauppage's WinTV - Linksys wireless router - Trend Micro PC-cillin firewall-virus protection

Nothing wrong with a trusted, established local vendor if you have one. However, I was coincidentally brought (3) 'white box' systems over several months from different end users. 2 were dead, 1 was an...

My original problem:

Everything worked pretty well until a few days ago, when all of a sudden I would boot up the Dell and see that I get an "excellent" signal from my wireless router, but with a message: "Limitied or No Connectivity". I could not get on the Internet in this case.

Anyone know how to reset the display adapter monitor back to default settings 1281
OK, here's a crazy thought. What is the chance that the Display settings in Windows were set yo use the Digital connector rather than...

When I checked out my other machines at the same time, they all had connectivity and were able to get on the Internet -- it was just my Dell. So the problem is not my DSL connection or my router.

When I reboot my DSL modem and my wireless router, then boot up the Dell, I *am* able to get on the Internet, but after a few hours I get "Limited or No Connectivity" again.

I tried disabling my PC-cillin firewall on boot-up, but it did not solve the problem. So it's not the firewall causing it.

Again, I have a 1901 and not the 1905, but with the 1901 ultrasharp, yes you can hook up both cable at the same time with no problem, and use...

It looks like the problem is only with the Dell.

S.Lewis I was a manager for a major computer show promoter for 25 years and I have only one thing to say, which will sum...

New problem, starting today:

Now I cannot successfully set up a TV signal in my Media Center. I've had to reset the TV signal evey once in a while anyway, but now it is not even recognizing my Media Center remote. The implication is that I can't successfully make recordings because the channel won't change in response to the scheduled recording.

This is the culmination of performance degradationon the WinTV-Meda Center anyway. First when I would disconnect from the WinTV and then reconnect, sometimes I would have to reset up the TV signal, sometimes not. Then in ther last month, it would not recognize my satellite box on automatic set-up, instead indicating an antenna set-up, and I would have to finsih the set up manually. Now the new problem: not recognizing the Media Center remote and this failing to change the channel in response to scheduling.

Does anyone recognize these problems and can suggest some possible fixes?

Thank you.

Chuck
