old I have watched a number of similar threads and I have to ask, are so many of us so elitist that we have to disregard any system more than a year old as obsolete?

I. E. This AM I got a call out because a router crashed and we needed to do a swap out & reconfig. My granddaughter has borrowed my new ThinkPad and my new company provided laptop, an D510 was DOA as of 2:15 AM. (Something Dell will hear about tomorrow morning to be sure.) Anyway the only readily portable on hand was my ten year old Sharp PC3010, 486 DX2. It still runs W95 so off I go. Just a little fuzziness on my part in operating in W95, but other than that it did the job as well as any other machine.

My point is any machine is worth what it's worth based on what the owners needs are. At present I'm typing this on a yard sale Emachine 400I2 tower, my wife bought complete w-printer for $30.00. It fits her needs perfectly. So other than alerting the OP as to the cost and limitations of the Dell in question any other commentary is really just personal opinion & hot air.
But then that's just my opinion
