Laptop Questions 1558Dell Inspirion 4000 PCMCIA slot not working Wow. I spent about 20hrs troubleshooting this issue. Toward the end no PCCARD would work in... On 8 Mar 2006 18:45:34 -0800, "jimtehma (e-mail isn't checked)" You're right Jim -- the D610 is 14" and D510 doesn't have dedicated graphics, so it seems that you have done your homework -- I apologize if any of my comments were "abrasive", I just like to see someone get the best computer for his-her needs. Sounds like the 810 does fit the bill. Laptop Breakin period On 5 Mar 2006 19:44:29 -0800, "jimtehma (e-mail isn't checked)" Hi Jim, I sometimes leave my laptop on all day or over several days. More often I... I used to have an Inspiron 8600 and used it pretty much how you have described using your 810D. I could move it to different areas within my apartment, including while watching TV in my recliner. The problem was though that the laptop screen was in the path of my TV, so I had to put the TV on top of the entertainment center lol. As a bachelor living alone, I can be very creative the way I set up my apartment. My setup now is pretty amazing. I live in WI and in the winter time I sometimes get a very bad seasonal depression (I am actually on disability for depression). Well I have 3 of the SAD lights positioned around my computer area, a 24" widescreen, a 21" for the dual monitor, a huge wireless HP 7410 all-in-one, a Dell 924 scanner printer (it was only $30 with an order), an Epson 3490 Photo scanner, my Dimension E510, six external hard drives (soon to be 8 -- because now I'm committed to having backups), wirless headphones, 7-speaker system, a Palm TX PDA, and a Dell Axim X51v PDA. Soon I'll have a laptop which I'll hook up to my extra 17" flatscreen and use as a dual monitor :-) Believe it or not, everything fits naturally and the work area is very functional. Journey
