Just yesterday I fought the battle to get my restore CDs mailed to me from Dell. During the conversation, the customer service rep mentioned that Dell has...

I have a 5 year old Dell flat screen Trinitron 19" monitor. For quite some time now, it's been "breathing". Until the monitor warms up, the picture on the screen will appear to be "breathing"...expanding and contracting like one's stomach does when you breath :). I've changed video cards but that didn't help. Now, until the monitor warms up, the screen will go blank, the green "on" light on the monitor will flash green and orange. I have to turn it off and back on. This happens with drastic changes in the screen redraws. For instance, as email starts to download in OE. Or I change web pages or changing screens in various programs. If I left the computer alone, the monitor would not go blank. Any ideas (besides it's time for a new computer)? That will happen in the next 4-6 months. Right now I'm running XP on a Dell XPS PIII 700, 768MB RAM, 64bit video card. Thanks, Monica
