Tom, I can't buy the monitor separately from the system. That was my original plan but with $50 being what Dell subtracts...
Well, it looks like it's time to retire my 5 year old (CRT) P991 Trinitron. It's been a good monitor. Outside of web surfing and email, my primary computer usage is for digital photos. I'm not a professional photographer. As far as I know, (affordable) LCDs are still not up to par with CRTs for this purpose. That said, I think I'm going to go with a flat panel for this purchase. I'd like not to spend more than $600 on a 19" (20" would be GREAT) flat panel from Dell. Altho my entire system (current is PIII XPS 700r) will be upgraded in the next 4-6 months, I'd like to go ahead and get my monitor now UNLESS it will be less expensive in the long run to buy it as a package deal. I do NOT want a monitor with built in speakers. They have a 20" (Dell Part #: 320-1578) on sale for $600, regularly $750. Any advice and help with selections would be greatly appreciated.
