Tom, I can't buy the monitor separately from the system. That was my original plan but with $50 being what Dell subtracts from a system if you don't get a monitor, it would be like buying two monitors and getting one. I'm considering the Dell Ultrasharp 2005FPW, 20". I've got the room for a wide screen. The image brightness is 300 cd and the image contrast ratio is 600:1. The Ultrasharp 2001FP (not widescreen) 20" is 250 cd image brightness and ratio is 400:1. What, if any, are the minuses of a widescreen? And why would I want it? The 2005 widescreen is about $30 LESS than the 2001FP. Tom, Dell has the Samsung 213T. The cd is 250 and ratio is 500:1. The larger the contrast ratio the better. The higher the brightness is better too, right? I promised myself I wasn't going to stresses over a computer purchase this time :o Oh well :( The Samsung is more than I wanted to spend but I'm trimming some fat from the system so I think I could swing it :) Thanks for your help :) Monica
