Motherboard replacement 21Motherboard replacement 23 nbsp; Lithium grease? I'm surprised any system put together with such is still working. Lithium grease doesn't have the same properties, thermal or otherwise, as true electronic heat... Just wondering what your problem is with Dell. They provided you with a new enough Laptop Questions 22 scribed... Perfectly normal. I've owned several Dell laptops, and had contact with Gateway (bleah) and others. All the laptop CD-DVD drives I've come across behave... Just some sarcasim. I DO NOT like Dell. Lets see here... Designed in Japan, Made in China, Sold in the US, and Tech support is in India. Yeah, great company  This computer was given to me by my grandfather, so I am making the best of a bad situation. I love my grandfather to rest, but his sense of computers is dictated to him by the 19 year old orderly punk kid. I spent many many hours on the phone with the head of the tech support department explaining to him A) how a 90 day warrentee is not acceptable when I B) spent quite a bit of money on the computer itself for all of the extras I wanted and C) for it to fail in less than a half a year and D) get a rude atbreastude from one of their buttociates.
I am a MAC person by heart anyway. :D If they didnt send the motherboard, I would have dropped the 700 dollars they wanted (600 for the board, and 100 for the service to get it swapped) into my old G3 (which I still use BTW, very reilable) for another 250 Gig Western and split the processor to dual G4s. and with the left over money, pick up some more RAM. :D :D sorry, I just had a moment :paranoid:
