My bad Dell experience of the week

This is a Dell screw-up. Dell jumped the gun.
UPS began to show movement on my original order early this morning. It is now 30 miles away from me, and will be delivered tomorrow.
I've ordered seven desktops-laptops from Dell over the last three years. In all instances, the in transit time from warehouse to shipper has been two days or less. With this order going on four days, I decided to write Dell, rather than wait longer only to find out later there was indeed a problem.
Why do you say "not that there's anything wrong with that"? Of course there is something wrong with that. You just said it increases the chance of butthole participation showing up on multiple...
I asked Dell for the shipping status of my order. They wrote back to me, "I understand that you did not receive your order...", and, "I would like to inform you that, I have set up a request for a new Dimension E510 to be shipped to you." For some reason, they couldn't tell that their own box was on one of their own trucks, which it clearly was. Even when I called Dell the next day, they told me it never left their own dock, which, again, it clearly had. What I think happened is that one particular customer servicer in India didn't understand the term 'in transit', and jumped the gun, and ordered me a new machine.
I've yet to see my original order disappear on my account, along with the charge, and that new order appear, so maybe they figured it out. On the other hand, I may be billed for two machines. Who knows?
(Yes, the original order was 3-25, not 5-25. My mistake.)
