Opinion: Dell currently makes the best notebooks
Hi Clark, Opinion: Dell currently makes the best notebooks 1672 Now I have a 3 year service contract. I re-learned a cardinal lesson: it is much easier... Yes, they began offering the dedicated video cards yesterday (at least the U.S. web site). I don't think support is better anywhere else, or more accurately I should say that I don't know if support is better anywhere else -- probably not. On Friday I had a nightmare support scenario. I almost wrote it up and posted it here, but in the end Dell threw some free things my way (upgraded my one year warranty to three years for free). I didn't fit into any of their areas so literally was bounced around at least 20 times, and my self-confidence of knowing how to navigate the support nightmare was given a reality check and dashed. There may be other choices out there that are better. If you can spring for it you might like the Lenovo IBM's. Their new model is probably out now (T60?) replacing the venerable 42-43. The keyboards and build quality are known to be the best, and the modular bay can be used to ensure long battery life if that's important. I'm not usually excited about computer purchase but the 630m I have exceeds my expectations. If you can use the $650 $750 off coupons in CA (their equivalent) then the Dells can be a real deal (I would never buy one without a significant discount). Journey
