you're right, these are estimates. they are based on the only clue we had which was that the systems were approximately 4 years old. i bought my last ls in november...

I've worked on over a half dozen of these...i think theyre decent systems. A local company was throwing out a half dozen of them because one thing or another broke on them... was able to salvage the parts from a dead-motherboard system and fix the other five with a good PS, good CPU, good zip drive, good hd, dimms, etc. etc. etc. :) Very convenient that different parts broke on each..

Anyway, I'm almost positive that there's a cmos reset jumper on the motherboard, just below all the other jumpers (there are about 8 lined up in a row). The others are for CPU clock speeds, the FSB is both 66 as well as 100 MHz, so (legally) you can go up to 450mhz P2, but I've heard about mods that go up to over 800Mhz with celeron 100Mhz processors...some even go farther (1.2 GHz? memory isnt that good on these items anymore).

At any rate, close the "cmos reset" jumper (it should be marked, or info should be available online). This will reset the cmos for ya. It's still a great win2k test and learning system...at least with enough memory installed (especially for win2k server).

Good luck, Dan
