Well it's a good thing that they are excited about the Domain model with Active Directory and all it's features. This normally means the customer will be more... Unfortunately going 'backwards' to a workgroup vs a domain is pretty much not going to happen. Not that I wouldn't do it if it was asked of me, but when I introduced them to Active Directory based domain network showing them features such as print servers, mapped network drives, seperate users for login security, and so forth, the office manager was salivating at the mouth. They truely do love everything security wise that Windows 2000 server provides and the network provides for them. I honestly don't forsee them actually downgrading anything or even now attaching a Win98 PC to the network. The office manager has been on a "security kick" in the last few years and does realize that Win98 does offer any security of any kind. To them, 80% of their business critical information resides in trash software files. This is where their customer information, overdo client accounts, anything that pertains to their customers resides at. The remaining information that is critical to them is in quickbooks which is very flexible. Again going back to what I wrote earlier the trash software is the really limiting point. Would parbreastion magic resize the parbreastions across a raided array? Obviously I wouldn't even think of doing that until after every known backup is taken care of first.
