You hit the nail on the head, the company is very excited with the domain model and are actually looking to use technology to benefit there business even more. When I first picked them up as a client, they had two Win3.1 systems with Quickbooks 4 and the trash software, that was in 1998. They are very apt on spending money, when they did a workstation upgrade to Dimension 8100's, instead of just having the cheaper 17" CRT monitors, they went out and got 19" LCD monitors and decided to get an LCD 19" for the server as well. They ended up spending well over $20,000 on the system upgrades.

However, when I informed them that a software conversion to a newer custom written software program for their trash software would cost around $12,000 - $15,000, they literally freaked out and instead decided to keep their current software. Not that I am siding with it one way or another, but that was about two years ago. Now as they are asking specifically, can they have their customer information in their trash software work with a potential GPS-mapping system, etc. I did specifically tell them without upgrading their trash software, that was impossible, and would make their potential purchase of the GPS and mapping almost pointless.

Another dilemma
