Question on DVI Cables Which One For Dell 2405FPW LCD
Just bought an ATI All-In-Wonder X800-XT graphics card for my D-8300. It has DVI and VGA connectors on the back.
Want to buy the Dell 24" UltraSharp 2405FPW flat panel LCD monitor. Want to use the DVI connection, not the VGA connection.
I started to buy it, but decided to check with Dell to see if it came with any cables. Dell said it only came with a VGA cable, and that you have to buy a DVI cable separately.
Question on DVI Cables Which One For Dell 2405FPW LCD 1604
Thanks for all the advice, but unfortunately, none of them answered my question. The documentation for my ATI graphics card says it takes a DVI-I cable (doesn't say...
Dell offers a "PureAV by Belkin High Performance HDTV DVI Video Cable (8ft)" cable for $89.00. I need to know if this will work with the DVI connection on the back of my card?
I don't need the HDTV and not sure what Dual Link means. My ATI card says the DVI connector supports a DVI-I cable. But not sure if this is compatible with this specific Belkin cable. Does anyone know?
I think it's the use of the terms "HDTV and Dual Link" that is confusing.
Also, are most DVI cables about $90, or is Belkin one offered by Dell considered an expensive one?
Before I add this Belkin cable to my Dell on-line shopping cart, would greatly appreciate some advice from those of you who have dealt with DVI before, and whether this specific Dell-offered Belkin cable will work with my ATI DVI connector.
I don't even know if "DVI is DVI" or if there are different types, meaning you have to make sure you get the right type.
Thank you very much. Gary
