Sony Root Kit 44

   I doubt very much that your system has picked up any such software nonsense from digital camera software. The Sony issue was limited to certain MUSIC (music, not data) CDs. There have been NO reports that I know of that the same copy-protection scheme has been found on data discs.

   Again, I doubt seriously that your system has been infested in any such manner. One way to help make sure it stays that way is to DISABLE your 'Autorun' function (the one that reads a CD the moment the thing is put into the drive). The information at this link will tell you how.
