System infor E510 or 5150I had a Dimension 4700 for about 10months and had "2" file folders with problem case numbers , names, ID#'s etc. I am writing to the corporate office to every VP on the website telling my tale of horror. I won't get into the hairy details here, however I do have a question. After creating havoc with Dell, they sent me a replacement system. First the supervisor said it was a 5150 and then said "yes" it is an E510. I don't know what the heck I have other than I know it came with a 160gig HD, 1gig ram, media center, ATI Radeon 600 x 256 . My 4700 originally had 512 ram 40gig hd and an ATI Radeon300x128. During the times I had so many problems, they compensated me with 2-$100 gift certificate which I purchased 2 - 1gig ram modules. I installed them in this refurbished system and now have 3 gigs of ram which I am sure I will never need. I also got a $100 gift cert. which I put towards a WD ext HD and they gave me the software contract free. All in all, component for component, I really did well. Wish I knew what was refurbished on this one :) Anyhow, the question I have is do I have a 5150 or E510 or are they both the same. The front panel which is attractive says E510. The side panel is white porcelain(looks like a dishwasher :) I also got a writeable DVD and CD drive. Problem with Inspiron 6000new to this site Greetings everyone, Need advice-help, new to posting, and have been a lurker for a few weeks here... How can I tell if this thing is a decent machine and which one is it. Components don't always mean anything. Luckily I had a 3 year warranty on my 4700 which will carry to the replacement for the next 2year 2months.. Didn't mean to be so long but wanted to explain. I probably just got a lemon to begin with. Floppy broke, DVD blew up in the drive as well as other problems. Thanks for any advice. Carmen
