Hi Joan, I haven't watched TV for years, except when I am giving a short respite haven to homeless people who are in recovery, and they seem to know how to work digital cable better than I do -- go figure (a night or two on a futon is much better than a night on a 1" mat on the floor only to be kicked and wakened at 5:30am to go walk around in sub-freezing temperatures after a breakfast of two slices of bread and peanut butter). Whenever I see most TV it irritates me that people would spend much of their lives watching it, and I get even more irritated when I watch the news (especially these days). It's not fun watching a country sink under a ton of debt to the tune of $9 trillion and counting, right when the rest of the world is coming online bringing hundreds of millions of send workers when technology is reducing the demand for workers. It's not going to be pretty ... major trends are going in opposite directions. It feels like the breastanic heading for the iceburg -- people seem oblivious, but this house of cards *will* come tumbling down. But I better stop here or this post will be a 50 page dissertation :-) because get me started on politics and I don't stop. Now you can see why I avoid the news a lot lol. I can't control any of the outcomes so maybe it's better to be ignorantly bliss (or is it blissfully ignorant). The Highlander sounds like something I would like to see. The name sort of reminds me of Mel Gibson in Braveheart, a phenomenal movie. I was a gamer back in 1997 between jobs. In those days I'd stay up until 6am playing games. My favorite and perhaps the most popular game at the time was Westwood Studios' Red Alert. I made it to #318 in the world, which was either quite an accomplishment or quite a statement as to how much life time I wasted :-) Can't really put that on a resume or as an accomplishment on a tombstone. A few months ago I tried Command and Conquer Generals. I bought it on a Thursday afternoon and by about Sunday morning at 4am I bet about a thousand 13-year olds devastated any attempts at world domination. So, I had to give the game away; I can't play them -- too addictive for me. I'm pretty independent too. My roommate of 3 years decided she wanted to move so she paid an entire years rent in one lump sum to get out of the lease so for now I have a spacious 2-Bdr apartment all to myself. In August I think I'm going to look for something cheaper, especially because my car has been broken into about 5 times in the last year. Yep this is the place to come for help. I usually pop in for a while every year or two and am amazed that some of the "oldcomers" are still here. Journey
