First day's impressions:

- I love it!

- I am used to a 2001fp and a 2405fps, so the little wxga screen is a LOT different. No problem if I had to do it over again I'd choose this -- my eyes finally need reading glbuttes (but I'm holding out) so having things larger is best for me. It's basically going to be used as a productivity laptop -- Word, Excel, etc. The only thing I can't see is all of the hours of the day on Palm Desktop.

- Weight-wise, it's at the upper limit of what I'd want to carry around. If I had stayed with the E1505 it would be past that.

- Battery life is great.

- Trubrite screen is great.

Corporate America HELL and Returning Dell Products
Hi Clark, I've been a Dell customer for many years, since the days of Pentium...

- I have some old power supplies from the 600m 700m. I wonder if they'd work for this.

- The mouse pad is great. I am glad Dell went back to -- I forgot the name, starts with an "S" something like "syntopics". I love to have scroll cruising back.

- When setting it up, I tried to see things from a new user perspective. It's f*'ing ridiculous. I am a "power user" and while I was trying to do one thing all of a sudden two other windows promoting something came up. And what I REALLY hate, are the ones that give 3 choices, each of which costs money. Some people (like my Mom) would wonder if they have to pay for it. It really makes me angry that a company would do that. I know this isn't unique to Dell.

- I am keeping the laptop lean and mean. No software that I won't use.

So, I give thumbs up to the 630m XPS 140.
